Shaykh Dr Hisham (UK)Centre for Islamic Studies, University of Cambridge https://asublimeway.com/about/ Shaykh Dr Hisham , fellow of the Centre for Islamic Studies at the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Cambridge, has studied the Islamic intellectual tradition with classically trained scholars in the UK, the Arab world, the Gambia, southeast Asia, and elsewhere. Appointed as the first professorial fellow in Islamic Studies at Cambridge Muslim College of Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad, Shaykh Seraj Hendricks designated Shaykh Hisham as the first and only senior scholar of the renowned Azzawia Institute in South Africa, and appointed him as muqaddam in the tariqa of Sayyid Muhammad b. Alawi al-Maliki. Born to an English father and to an Egyptian mother of ʿAbbāsī-Sudanese & Ḥasanī-Moroccan heritage, and educated to post-doctoral levels in law and the social sciences, Shaykh Dr Hisham’s academic career has included positions at Harvard University, Warwick University, and the American University in Cairo.
